Introduction

The Department of Neurosurgery at Ali Fatima Hospital and Abu Umara Medical & Dental College (AUMDC) is a rapidly growing center of excellence for advanced neurological care. Under the expert leadership of Dr. Syed Salman Raza Jaafery (Head of the Department), our unit provides specialized surgical interventions for complex diseases of the brain and spine. 

Established with a vision to provide world-class surgical outcomes, we combine clinical expertise with state-of-the-art neuro-imaging and modular operating theaters to manage life-critical neurological conditions.

Comprehensive Clinical & Surgical Services

Outpatient & Inpatient Services

Since our inauguration, we have successfully managed over 3,750 patients in our OPD, establishing AFH as a trusted name for neurosurgical consultation in Lahore.

  • Neurosurgery OPD: Consultations are available 5 days a week (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, and Sat) from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM.
  • 14-Bedded Neurosurgery Ward: A dedicated inpatient facility designed for the specialized care and monitoring of neurosurgical patients.
  • Critical Care Support: Comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care provided by our 7-bedded Medical ICU and 7-bedded Surgical ICU.

Our department is fully equipped to perform major, intermediate, and minor intracranial procedures, including:

  • Brain Tumor Surgery: Excision of benign and malignant tumors.

The neurosurgery ward has 10 beds, modern ICUs, modular OTs, microscopes, and advanced diagnostic tools (CT, MRI). Post-surgery, patients are closely monitored to ensure safe recovery.

Yes! We treat both adults and children for brain and spine conditions, including pediatric tumors, hydrocephalus, and congenital spine issues, with specialized pediatric care.
